Out With the Old & In With The New

It's New Years Eve in Asheville, NC. I am sitting in a bar drinking a Pisgah Pale Ale and contemplating my evening.

Today was so much better than yesterday. Yesterday was raining and cold. Reminded me out of last weekend trip out of Raleigh for the Labor Day Tybee Typhoon. Thank God it didn't last.

We spend the majority of the day wandering around the Biltmore estate (in the fucking rain). The place was fucking mobbed! The winery had a line of like 100 people just waiting to get in! Fuck that. Wait in the cold rain for less than mediocre tourist wine? (We've already had it.) I don't think so.

We did the candlelight tour of the house. It was something to see. I think I liked the Hearst Castle better- more my speed. But hey, I went. Something else off the list.

To add to the amusement of yesterday, we get the first and go to the house to take pictures (in the rain) out of house, its really spectacular and

Today has been fantastic.

It's been a good day.. We spend the day wandering around through the downtown randomly drinking, eating, and shopping.

It was gorgeous today. The sun was out and it was warm enough to be out and about in only a long sleeve sweater. It was one of those fantastic, bright mountain days that make you think the people here know something the rest of us don't.

I'm not sure what we are going to get into. I expect we are going to find some dinner and roll into a bar and bask in the local brew. The night is full of possibilities (beer options).

Here's to drinking out '07 and in with '08.
